Central Coast overnighter

No cooler way to visit friends in Atascadero than to arrive at Paso Robles by plane. The May coastal marine layer sent us inland to follow I-5 to Los Banos, then we cut over to Salinas Valley after getting beyond the overcast. On approach to Paso the Cal Fire waterbombers were working a fire close to town, sending us a little further West, and we joined traffic pattern to Rwy 19. We stayed overnight with friends, dinner at Mistura in downtown SLO, a morning hike through the oaks, and lunch on a sunny (yes, I said sunny...but cool!) day at Morro Bay for the arts festival. The trip home that afternoon was an easy 6,500 ft cruise, but challenging crosswind (90 degrees at 14kts gusting 22) upon arrival back to Gnoss (did you know May is the windiest month?).

Check the photos for the hawk in the tree on our friends' patio deck, then Morro Bay Arts Festival, finally the Paso Robles airport terminal lounge area.
